Certification mark

Organic dairy products are readily recognisable by the certification mark on the packaging. Organic dairy products made in the Netherlands can be labelled with the following two (certification) marks on the packaging, which guarantee that the product is of organic origin:

1. EKO certification mark
Is awarded by Skal and indicates that the product is of organic origin and controlled by Skal. Skal is the only independent inspection body for organic products recognised by the Dutch government.

2. Demeter certification mark 
When a product is labelled with the Demeter mark it not only complies with organic production standards, but also with the standards applicable to biodynamic products. In the Netherlands the supervision of these standards is managed by the BD organisation, which awards the Demeter certification mark to biodynamic products.
